Graduated from Moscow State Pedegogical Institute, Arts and Grahics department in 1989. Since 1992 – member of the Moscow Union Of Artists of Russia. In 2005 was awarded by the Creative Union of Artists with a bronze medal for the contribution to domestic culture.

 

Few people work with the monotypy technique nowadays as it rather complicated and laborious – monotypy provides only a single print (the impression is done by a thin layer of oils on fabric or paper) and the result is unpredictable. But Marina Zvyagintseva creates her works almost purely by monotypy media. Marina has graduated from the graphic department of a Polygraphy Institute. Black and graphics has helped her comprehend the expressive potential of a line, plane characteristics, light and shade modeling traditions. After the Institute – a year of batik studies. The batik has its own aesthetics of clear untroubled colors, its own particular features – fabriclightness, decorative patterns and lyrical themes. The experience in black and white graphics and batik defined the main trend of the artist’s further development. The graphics and batik integrated in Marina Zvyagintseva’s work to initiate something entirely new – the monotypy on fabric. Signs of the real and imagined of the actuality and myth folded over having brought to life a rather peculiar result. Marina Zvyagintseva’s work stir a certain range of associations as the same time calling up specific motives of the Biblical mythology.

But whatever associations there may be, no matter how they change one another in their transience there is in Marina Zvyagintseva’s creative work a constant thing – thelifelust expressed in the spirit’s movement towards pinnacles of the inconceivable, in the movement of life manifested both in the pains of its birth and in the joys of overcoming.
